21-year old Dayron Robel of Cuba smashed a world record today in the 110-meter hurdles clocking 12.87 seconds taking 0.01 second off the previous record set by China's Olympic and world champion Liu Xiang in 2006 at Lausanne.
Second in the rase was Terrence Trammell of the United States (13.21 seconds) and third was Ukraine's Sergey Demiduk (13.42 seconds).
Dayron Robel appears to be one of Cuba's best hopes for the Beijing Olympics.
